Prof. Chunming Rong
Head, Center for IP-based Service Innovation (CIPSI), University of Stavanger, NORWAY

Is the chair of IEEE Cloud Computing and vice president of CSA Norway Chapter. He is the head of the Center for IP-based Service Innovation (CIPSI) at the University of Stavanger (UiS) and adjunct Chief Scientist leading Big-Data Initiative at IRIS. His research work focuses on data science, cloud computing, security and privacy. He is an IEEE senior member and is honoured as member of the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences (NTVA) since 2011. He has extensive contact network and projects in both the industry and academic. He is also founder and Steering Chair of IEEE CloudCom conference and workshop series. He is the steering chair and associate editor of the IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing (TCC), and co-Editors-in-Chief of the Journal of Cloud Computing (ISSN: 2192-113X) by Springer. Prof. Rong has extensive experience in managing large-scale R&D projects funded by both industry and funding agencies, both in Norway and EU.


Uras Tos
Research Assistant, Dept. of Computer Engineering, Izmir Institute of Technology

Is a Research Assistant at Izmir Institute of Technology, where he received his BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Engineering. He is currently a PhD candidate of Computer Science and Engineering at Ege University. Also, he is continuing his PhD under joint-supervision with the Toulouse Institute of Computer Science Research (IRIT) of Paul Sabatier University. His research interests include large-scale data management, data replication and cloud computing.


Prof. Erdal Çayırcı
CEO Dataunitor, Stavanger, Norway

Graduated from Army Academy in 1986 and from Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst in 1989. He received his MS degree from Middle East Technical University, and a PhD from Bogazici University both in computer engineering in 1995 and 2000, respectively. He retired from the Army when he was a colonel in 2005. He was an Associate Professor at Istanbul Technical University, Yeditepe University and Naval Sciences and Engineering Institute between 2001 and 2005. Also in 2001, he was a visiting researcher and a lecturer at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Georgia Institute of Technology. He founded Genetlab in 2005 and ETE in 2015. He was Head, CAX Support Branch in NATO's Joint Warfare Center in Stavanger, Norway between 2005 and 2016. He is currently the CEO of Dataunitor AS in Norway, and also a professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of University of Stavanger. His research interests include computer simulations, cloud computing, mobile communications, data science and sensor networks. He received the "2002 IEEE Communications Society Best Tutorial Paper" Award for his paper titled "A Survey on Sensor Networks", the "Fikri Gayret" Award from Turkish Chief of General Staff in 2003, the "Innovation of the Year" Award from Turkish Navy in 2005, the "Excellence" Award in ITEC 2006, "the Scientific Achievement Award" from NATO Science and Technology Office in 2016. He co-authored two books titled as “Security in Wireless Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks," and "Computer Assisted Exercises and Training: A Reference Guide” both published by John Wiley & Sons in 2009. "Security in Wireless Ad Hoc and Sensor Networks" has been translated to Chinese. He also authored another book titled "Çok tanınıyorsun! Farkında mısın? " in 2016.


Okan Alper
Linovi, Teknopark İzmir

Okan Alper has over 15 years of experience in building scalable and redundant systems. He was part of a small team that created a new product line at Oracle that was used by Fortune-100 companies, and also worked on systems for large telecoms around the world. Okan has also worked at Yahoo as the architect for yahoo.com, which had over 50 million daily users and my.yahoo.com which was the most popular personalized portal at that time. He is currently leading a team of developers that are building highly scalable and reliable systems for early to late stage startups.


Leyla Tekin
Research Assistant, Dept. of Computer Engineering, Izmir Institute of Technology

Received her BS in Computer Engineering at Izmir Institute of Technology, Turkey, in 2015 and she is currently pursuing her MS in Computer Engineering at the same university. She is working as a research assistant at Izmir Institute of Technology. She is doing research in encrypted search algorithms on encrypted data. Her research interests include information and cloud security.


Dr. Emrah Tomur
Manager, Technology Transfer Office, Yaşar University

is the manager of technology transfer office of Yasar University in Izmir, Turkey. He is also adjunct faculty in the Department of Computer Engineering at the same University. His research work focuses on information systems security, wireless networks and mobile computing. Dr. Emrah Tomur has extensive experience in managing large-scale national and international R&D projects funded by industry and various funding bodies in Turkey and Europe. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department of Bilkent University and Ph.D. degree from the Department of Information Systems of Middle East Technical University.
